Tree Trimming in Riverside FAQs

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions that we've gotten from our clients over the years.

Have some additional questions about our tree services?  Call us today at (951) 900-3454.

  • Why should I prune my trees?

There are lots of great reasons to prune a tree! One might think that while the plant is growing, there's not much you can do about how it grows or where it goes. But this isn't exactly true - by controlling its growth and shaping branches in certain ways, one could teach the plant grow into beautiful trees with strong structural integrity. That means they will have their best chance at becoming large and majestic beauties that will remind you each day why you decided to take care of them when they were young plants just starting out in life.

  • How much does tree trimming cost?

You may be wondering about the cost of a tree trimming service, but it's hard to really be sure about costs without knowing the extent of the work needed. You can ask for our free estimate and we will give you an idea if there is anything that needs to be done. All it takes is filling out a contact form with some details about your project or calling us at (555) 555-5550 so we can talk more directly.

  • My tree is leaning. Will it fall?

With the Santa Ana winds coming in every now and then, it's not uncommon for trees to grow quite a bit more crooked. If you've noticed that your tree has become considerably less upright over just one or two short weeks of time, don't fret! After intense wind storms like this happen from time-to-time here in Southern California where these same devastating conditions are common, some stronger trees will still be able to stand up on their own while others might have been weakened by rough gusts. The difference is readily noticeable after such extreme weather events. So we want everyone who lives nearby any large, leaning trees (especially those with property near them) to know about potential safety hazards beforehand so they can take precautions accordingly in the event that these trees become damaged and appear to be ready to fall. If that is the case for you, please call us right away at (111) 222-3333.

  • What do "reducing," "topping" and "pollarding" mean?

Reducing - Just remember that in this case, branches are shortened to "reduce" the height and spread of a tree. Here in Riverside, there are some homes with incredible views. But sometimes trees can grow to the point where those views get obstructed. Instead of removing the tree, the tree can simply be reduced to give you that million dollar view back.

Topping - To be blunt, a tree that has been topped will be kind of ugly. Topping is basically when a tree is cut down to the stubs on all sides, Topping is not something that arborists find acceptable. The tree will be cut down to the stubs on all sides. Why is this ever done in the first place? Well, sometimes it's done in an effort to reduce the size of the tree (though its a bad way to accomplish this.) It always backfires because the tree goes into what you could call "panic mode," where many weak, but fast-growing sprouts shoot out from the stubs. In a period of five years, a topped tree will actually end up growing larger (and uglier) than a tree that was properly pruned or reduced in the first place.

Pollarding - Pollarding is like topping, but done the right way. This is when major branches are drastically cut back in order to contain the tree's size. This process should begin while the tree is still young, and continue once every two years for the entire lifespan of the tree (which will hopefully be a very long time!)

  • How will I know if my tree needs to be removed?

There are a few reasons why you may want to remove your tree. A dying or unhealthy tree will show noticeable trunk decay, branches that are visibly dead and foliage which is dry looking. Another sign of an aging or diseased tree would be if the sidewalk near your street begins cracking in this direction because it's been pushed up by the roots from underneath; bark on trees can also become ingrown (swelling) as they age and need more space to grow outwards again - so look for signs like these around your home before deciding whether a tree removal service could be necessary!

Emergency Tree Services in Riverside

In the past few years, we've seen many trees in Riverside come down for one reason or another. They either just couldn't handle living any longer and finally succumbed to various natural causes such as disease, insects like beetles that bore their way into a tree's bark causing rot from within (there are other culprits too! Keep browsing our site and you'll see) age-related weakness which leaves them susceptible to wind damage during storms etc., or they were simply taken down because of construction happening nearby due to development projects always on the horizon here in sunny Southern California. If you had asked us several years ago, we would have told you that this is sad for us, but now we see it differently: with every downed tree comes new opportunity for its place - whether through replanting more mature replacements or by beginning with something brand new.

When you think of an emergency tree situation, a fallen tree might be the first thing that comes to mind. But if a tree has fallen in a safe spot, it's probably safe to stay there for at least some time until a tree crew can handle its removal.

If a tree has fallen in a place where it's not threatening any property such as a home, vehicle,  or electrical poles/power lines, it might be best to schedule a normal tree service to cut up and remove the fallen tree. The difference in price could be hundreds of dollars.

However, if the tree is posing a danger or a threat to property or people in the area, the best thing to do would be to contact us.

We typically see a surge in emergency tree services after the Santa Ana winds blow through. Those winds can really do a number on trees, and they tend to be very busy times for Inland Tree Care Company. In these cases, we ask for your patience as our crew works as quickly, efficiently yet safely as possible. Each one of our customers is important to us, but taking care to put safety first is best for them as well as the members of our crew, which might result in longer wait times to schedule an appointment.

Putting the time and care into your tree service is important! We never want to let you down or disappoint, but things do happen, like the appointment before yours is a bit more complicated than expected, for example. If we are running late due to unexpected delays performing another service, we will always contact you so that there's no worry on your end. When it comes down to a last minute cancellation, we will schedule you for our next available appointment slot. You can rest assured knowing that your project still has someone who cares about its quality and is fully invested in making sure everything goes smoothly when they arrive.

Why Choose Inland Tree Care Company

Minimal Business Disruption

It's always hard when there is a disruption of your work schedule. It can be annoying, and sometimes it feels like you can't get your day back on track! Rest assured though--we'll plan out an expertly-timed project to make sure everything runs smoothly for everyone involved; after all, our goal here is to get things back up and running as soon as humanly possible so you don't lose any time or money from this ordeal. So no need worry--just call us today if you need a tree service in Riverside.

Competitive Prices

If you're finding yourself in need of a tree service, you might be envisioning your dollars flying out of the window. Well, we know that money doesn't grow on trees (or you'd probably be doing the trimming yourself, right?) We have the skills and ability to provide top-notch services at affordable prices in line with, or better than, other tree service companies in Riverside and the Inland Empire. If you show us that you've found a better quote out there, we will do our best to beat it.

Keep in mind, though, that some people have had the unfortunate experience where   tree trimmers  in Riverside will quote a low price, only to show up at the customer's property and demand something higher. It's pretty easy for us to figure out of this is what's happened, so we'll be unable to beat those prices. You have our word, though, that we would never do such a thing. We stick to our estimates. But we'll be completely honest with you: there are extremely rare cases where a discovery is made once the project is underway, that was not foreseeable from the initial inspection. If such a discovery requires any adjustment in the cost of the service, we will give you clear explanations and proof to justify them. We will also provide alternative options if possible, to save you as much as possible on any associated costs.
